Is anyone else experiencing issues with their email today? Random users are reporting that inbox emails from the last month and last 2 days (except for Tuesday and Wednesday) have disappeared (they're in Deleted). I'm wondering if this is related to recently reported 365 outages in USA, or something more sinister...

So, I guess the easy way would be to get some hardware keys for everyone. I'm only just getting to grips with Entra and starting to understand how I can leverage it to help us to be more secure moving forwards. Looks like we'll need to upgrade our subscription. Could anyone recommend online training for Entra that they have undertaken? Apart from the Microsoft Learn resources that I'm ploughing through? TIA

How are you accommodating staff that refuse to use their phones for 2FA. Out of about 100 staff we have just one person that refuses to have Authenticator and doesn't want to receive text.

Our HT has asked me to find a solution, as a matter of urgency, that enables us to recall mistakenly sent emails and attachments. We use M365. I've had a demo of Egress Prevent and Protect, which appears to do the job, but the pricing is prohibitive. I would be interested to know what other schools are doing to mitigate against potential data breaches and enabling recall of mail and docs. Any good alternatives to Egress that won't break the bank?... TIA

I'm right in the middle of reading the Starwinds Virtual SAN 2 node setup document (as we speak lol). I'm looking at nested resiliency. The licence increase to Datacentre has been quoted as £800PA. It would be interested to find out the price for the paid version of Starwinds. Is there any difference between the paid and free versions (apart from support)?

Did you go for the Dell AX Nodes, or are the custom built?
-
Thank you RobyHolmes. Have you deployed it in your setting?

I've just come off a conference call with Dell, discussing a quotation they have provided to supplying a Custom build 2 Node S2D HCI setup based on the R750XS. The spec is appropriate for our needs, is compliant with S2D recommendations, and the costing is possible within our budgetary constraints. The Technical Advisor has suggested that we look at their S2D specific offering - the AX - which provides guarantees on total conformity with MS hardware requirements (and peace of mind that there shouldn't be a blaming ping pong between hardware and software in the event that there are problems ahead). I'm pretty confident that this will be way above our budget, but we will see in the fullness of time. So, this looks like I will need to make a decision between the less fussy Hyper-V Replica, Cluster, or deploying S2D. I would be really interested in hearing from colleagues that have taken the 2 Node S2D route, and your experiences/ regrets maybe?/successes? TIA

Thank you. I’ve ended up communicating directly with Dell. For the spec I’m looking for there’s a shortage Nics at the moment but they’re doing the legwork. Looking like a 2 to 3 month wait.

Who did you order from?

I'm struggling to get quotations due to a shortage of available components. It would be interesting to hear from anyone else with this problem......

I'm about to commence with an Evaluation. Any feedback from existing users about the standard of Technical Support would be appreciated.... TIA

Having had a printer engineer out to the copiers for the umpteenth time to remove sticky labels from the rollers, they have decided to start charging for callouts when this happens - fair enough. The Headteacher has asked me to source a Printer/ copier that can safely deal with A4 sticky label sheets. It needs to be Enterprise standard as it will be hammered. Any recommendations? TIA

It's a bit of a long post, but I was wondering if any of my colleagues out there have had a similar experience. We decided a couple of weeks ago to take up the offer of a 1 Month Free Trial of Sophos Mail, which is an option in our Sophos Central Console. So, I made preparations, gathered the info and guidance I needed to redirect our M365 domain and deployed it on 25th May. However things weren't working as they should - no external incoming Mail, so I called Sophos. During that afternoon I spent 2 hours on the phone talking to someone I struggled to understand and who clearly didn't have the technical skills to help me (and cut the line at 6PM). In total i was on the phone for179 minutes either going round in circles trying to speak to somebody or being told that someone would call me back (didn't happen). So, after trying desperately to get help from Sophos (and enquiries from staff about problems with their emails) I decided to bin it because I needed a solution quickly and it just wasn't happening. So I went back to the original setup. Fast forward a week or 2 and I have discovered that my Mobile Phone Provider has charged me £135 for the privilege of calling the Sophos Support number from my mobile! Perhaps I shouldn't have made these changes to essential infrastructure during normal working hours, and perhaps I could have sought the services of a specialist provider. A big shout out should go to Exa Technical Support who helped me to recover the original Domain Settings and be back up and running within the hour. It just goes to show the value of having a reliable, local, and responsive services partner. And thank you to the members on this forum that sought to help. So, unsurprisingly, I have no faith whatsoever that Sophos possess the capability of providing a level of support that may be required from time to time. Let's see how I get on with the complaint.

It looks normal Will. Just a few that should be there

only internal emails are viewing in message trace

Got it

How would I do this Will? Thx

It's all looking good within the Sophos Console. Mail isn't reaching the Outlook mailbox

We've just subscribed to Sophos Email on trial, and I've configured it to filter our O365 traffic Inbound and Outbound. Followed the instructions from Sophos and setup the appropriate (methinks) MX and TXT records on the domain, and setup Connectors in Exchange. I've just come off a 2 hour call with Sophos Support and I'm losing the will to live! I got the impression that I'm more familiar with the setup than the person looking into it for me. Hoping that I can find some inspiration on here because we are in limbo. Sophos Support - if you are listening - any chance of speaking to a UK Call Centre? Specific problem: Outbound emails no problems. Inbound emails are registering as delivered successfully in Sophos Central Email Gateway Message History, but don't appear in the Outlook Mailbox. Although emails from fellow domain members work fine. I've synched with Azure AD and all domain accounts are in Sophos. Any tips to get this back on the show before anyone notices would be much appreciated.

Update: If you have this screen you will need to buy a Windows 10 driver from https://touch-base.com/download Oh dear!!!

Now that each touchscreen computer in the school needs upgrading, this has become a more prominent issue! I've read somewhere that Sahara are asking for £60/ computer to supply the W10 driver. Has anyone had much success with this? Ta

Having replaced an old computer with new, the touchscreen is malfunctioning..... New Dell Optiplex, Windows 10 Pro with HD630 graphics. Desktop monitor connected via VGA. Sahara 9GT55M screen connected via HDMI. Touch registers on the screen with the circle graphic around touch point, but single or double click does not respond. I can drag icons around the screen. When I use Windows calibration tool, the touch does not register. Any tips? TIA

I'm unable to enrol Ipads now... From Ipad, connecting fine to profile manager url device enrollment. I can click through enrolling the device in the browser, and install. Returns error message: Profile Installation Failed A network error has occurred. As far as I know nothing else has changed since working last week. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
