  2. I've been ordering for our Trust (5 Schools) The answer actually changes daily, depending on what they have in stock. We have been unlucky enough to get some of the Tactus Geobooks, which I ordered as non secured from DFE. but then noticed the secured ones were DELLS, if you have the safeguarding and filtering software, you can remove the management from a DFE managed one anyway, you just have to ask them for the passwords. When I get the go ahead to order, I look at the model of laptop available, and order what looks best, and what will survive - the Geobooks are awlful flimsy bits of kit avoid them at all costs - Very are flogging them for £180 a shot. The Dells are okay selling for £380 on the Dell site currently, and the HPs are fine. We strip of the DFE management and do our own thing with them. If you are a Google school, get the Chromebooks
  3. The link is incorrect on this one. I think it should be this one https://www.jobsgopublic.com/vacancies/86821
  4. I know the information is in the user webpage, but the Head has asked if it is possible to have it as a popup, when someone prints, so they are aware of how much they have printed. I just thought as the information is in the portal, there must be a way of displaying this in a nother way.
  5. Hi all Hoping for some help from some Papercut scripting gurus, as I can't find anything in the built in code recipes. Our head wants a popup, on every print job, to tell users how many pages they have ever printed, and possibly with cost. I know this information is in there, but not sure how to get it out. Any help would be appreciated.

  8. What MIS do you use?
  9. So back on topic... Is anyone actually doing this? From your comments so far we are talking about a daily report to extract the attendance info from the MIS, to populate a database that's then queried on logon and displayed on screen?
  10. It was the Executive Principal that asked, she's heard of a school doing it, where it has actually improved attendance..... Students at the CMIS school already have access to ePortal, so they can go on and see their attendance, what she wants is for it to flash up whenever they log onto a computer.
  11. Hi Everyone I have just been asked if its possible to display individual student attendance when they log on to a computer. Like a pop up box that stays for a short while. Is anyone else doing this, or does anyone know of a way of doing it? I am thinking possibly a script that runs on logon, that will pull the info from the MIS and display it on screen. PS she wants this across our Trust, where we have schools running both CMIS and SIMS
  12. We scratched our heads for ages on it, in the end it was ports on the External firewall that needed opening - baffles me why it needs external access for what is our internal network to be honest.
  13. Sorry to bring back an old thread, was just wondering if you ever found the answer to this? We are having similar problems, and have been scratching our heads for days. It now appears to be enrolling iPads but not iMacs
  14. Thanks for posting, you beat me to it! - I do have connection with this school.
