  1. it is on a 2003 server - but the problem was the network card itself. ended up just replacing the printer (as we dont have spare network or jetdirect cards) and problem was resolved.
  2. Thanks guys for the help! We didn't have a JetDirect card - we had a NIC card installed instead. It went bad....So my sup said that he had some extra JetD cards, and we will install one in it - but for the meantime - he installed a new printer! Go figure - tax dollars at work... Hope you have a great day - and again - thanks!
  3. well, i hadnt tried that (yet), but my supervisor is telling me it's a simple fix....I went through the troubglshooting manuals and did everything it said to do! Anyways - The Jet Direct settings are in the menu, I am able to ping the IP address assigned to the printer, and when I go through online I can see how much ink it has in it.... I am frustrated really....I dont have the spare parts to try what you are suggesting, but i will try it if i get the chance. thanks
  4. This is a network printer (and there are others exactly like it on our network as well - set up exactly the same). the LAN is good, the IP is good, the settings are good. I deleted it, recreated it, rebooted it, checked the LAN cable, checked the power cable, removed it off the user PC and re-added it. When I turn it off and back on - it goes to processing job - blinks the data light 10 times, then goes back to ready mode. I can't get it to work outside of directly hooking it up - and that is not the point of it (its supposed to be a network printer!) I am at my wits end here - can't find anything in the manual - and HP can't help cuz the warrenty is out. Thanks, Ada
