Hello
I have an Acer Aspire 8930g wich won't post.
It was given to me by a friend for repair. I noticed a bad connection where the power supply plugs in and when i opened i i saw the two ground wires had been cut from the connector.
I soldered the ground connection and power seems ok, the machine turns on, the screen turns on, there is a cursor for a little, and then another cursor (both very brief) and the machine stops there. It won't post, it won't do anything.
I've tried a 'power reset' as asus calls it in its support faq but nothing. I've tried removing and reinstalling cpu and graphics, and trying one ram module at a time but still nothing...
I tried installing another graphics card and I got the same results, though I am not sure if the other card is operational.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Is it the mainboard or the graphics card?
Regards
