It sounds to me like your default swf player is the standalone flash player. If you open the file in internet explorer it will check the hash and only block files that are in the hash list. If you open it in flash player and flash player is getting killed by the app then it will close it down whether it is hashed or not. Trav P.S. These files are only used when flash games open up in internet explorer. If they open in standalone flash then they are just killed. Trav

Hi, Sorry for the delay, I had been bombarded with problems for teachers and pupils. I have had a look at your file and tried to use your configuration on one of our machines and you are right, it doesn't stop java from running. I examined your config file and found that you had made the same mistake as me in your settings. The KILL command is case sensitive when looking at the processes. Change your Javaw to lowercase (javaw) and it should kill java as well. Trav P.S. Thanks for the new game

I have had a checked and the process name that runs is definitely called javaw. I'm not sure if you have a copy of the game that you have to check what the process name is on your system. Can you send me a copy of your ini file (it may be an idea to take out your password)? I have a copy of the game which I have attached if you need it. Hi, If I remember properly, when you run standalone java on the machine it runs under the process javaw. If you put the option kill=javaw then it should fix your problem. Keep in mind that this will stop all standalone java from running on the machine so if you have something like accipio then it will stop it from working. Trav

Hi, We have been using the gamekiller app on our vanilla network since it was released and I would just like to say what a wonderful piece of programming, I just wish I could even work out where to start when it comes to creating an app like yours. Anyway, I have moved off topic. It worked brilliantly for about a week. Really annoyed our year 11's to the point that they threatened the other technician here which was funny. Then, they found a way round the program. If they open up flash, load there swf into it, publish a new swf and web page and then run the created html, they can not only play the game, but it doesn't appear in the copied games folder. I am not sure if there is anything you can do about this one but I really do hope you can. The year 11's are leaving soon, but the rest of the school will no doubt know how to get the games to run. the_travisty

Im sure it has already been mentioned somewhere, but I need help with a problem. I can access the SIMS.net SQL database and use an asp webscript to extract data to use in another internal system. I believe that the data belongs to the school, and as of august, with the mandatory sql purchase, the SQL program belongs to the school. All SIMS.net does is access the data from the SQL database. Bypassing SIMS.net and accessing the SQL database directly wont cause Capita to jump on my back if i decide to sell the system which read this data to another school, will it?

I work at a school as an IT Technician and have recently undertook a massive task of producing an online tracking system for pupils grades, targets and test results. I have succesfully produced this and it is now being used by the school. I have been approached by a few members of staff asking me if i would be interested in creating a system if they moved school. My current version is owned by the school because i made it during working hours - what a swine, if i had created in my own time i could have sold it but copyright law says that it belongs to the school, not me - that the school own the copyright law for it and i cannot sell it. My question is, if i took the principle idea of storing data and accessing it through a web page, started from scratch and produced a newer, better version, could I be done for breaking copyright laws? Any help would be great as the school wont sign the rights for the copyright over to me. After all i've done for them they could of least of considered it for more than a split second. As a side point, can I reuse the name as it hasn't been trademarked?
