I don't want to Hi-Jack this conversation and I will create a new post if necessary, but I'm having a similar problem.
We had all of our print shares on a windows 2003 server and nobody had problems adding the printers to their local desktops.
We created a new Windows 2003 R2 SP2 server and now end users get the deadly: ""A policy is in effect on your computer which prevents you from connecting to this printer queue. Please contact your system administrator"" error.
When you make them local administrator on their local computer sometimes it fixes the problem and sometimes it doesn't...
Any ideas?
