We've just made the move from Impero to Senso. I don't think it's as intuitive for the end user as Impero but there are more useful functions. The few things I don't like are: 1. The PC selection feels clunky. Impero has single click for select all, select power on, select powered off etc. With Senso you need to apply the filter before choosing an operation. You also have to remember to remove the filter afterwards. For example, if I want to turn off any powered on PC's it takes 4 clicks with Impero. The same procedure with Senso is 6. 2. I prefer Impero's Operate dropdown list as it's quick. Senso has separated the End Session (Log out, Shutdown, Restart), Power On and Remote Logon. 3. If you have control of a PC (or are viewing in full screen) you can't use the console for anything else. It needs a pop out window option. I like to be able to control/view more than 1 PC at a time, which Impero allows. However, hopefully these things may come as development is always continuing which is one of the reasons we made the switch. Impero hasn't changed in a very long time and is less and less reliable. The keyword logging is a great feature as is the word cloud (though it needs some work to stop detecting part words!). We'll be reviewing again in a year but I'm hopeful this will be a good change. Also, support is fantastic! We have been working closely with Alex and the issues we had have pretty much been sorted out and quickly.

Hi, I've attached the screen shots of the GPO's for students. This was created by a 3rd party (Northgate) and I have just made a few small additions or changes as needed but they don't seem to be doing what they are supposed to. Any advice would be great! Thanks Carl

Hi, I'm not sure what's going on but we have group policies that don't seem to be running or we have people getting around them. In the college we have restricted what students can do and have blocked access to things liek the control panel, display settings, wallpapers etc. yet we seem to have some students who have their own background and today I saw someone with the control panel open and freely chaging settings. We had a problem with Halo and Minecraft being played across the networl so I created a hash rule for the game and disabled the running of exe files from USB sticks to put an end to it. Neither worked and we ended up using Impero which stopped it dead! We are running server 2008R2 and Windows 7 Pro desktops. Is there a way to block these students or are GPO's just a waste of time? Thanks.

lol!! Well I'm never convinced with these 'universal' drivers. Why not just make a driver dedicated for the specific printer!?

Hi, It seems as though it was a printer problem where it was set to auto on the colour tab. Once forced to colour it did start printing the brochures in colour. The odd thing though was this only happened with the Office programs. If I printed from picture viewer or Photoshop the prints were in colour! Thanks for your replies and help.

Hi, We have a load of students who have created brochures in Publisher. We have an HP 2025 colour laser and no matter what we try we can't get it to print word art, clip art or text boxes in colour. They only ever print in greyscale. Any image that isn't clip art prints perfectly. We are using Windows 7 and have an HP Universal PLC6 driver as there are no specific drivers for the 2025. Does this sound like a driver issue or is there something in Publisher causing the problem? The brochures are part of their GCSE coursework so we need to find a solution. Thanks.
