Hi All, I just want some advice on a problem I am running into with our EMC Clariion AX4. I have very limited experience of working on EMC SAN's but im running into an issue when trying to bind new LUNs. There is 600gb of free space but only 400gb of contiguous free space available. Of course I need to try and allocate 600gb to a new LUN. I have had a look online and come to the conclusion that we need to defrag the disk group in order to put all of the disk space together. I have identified where I need to trigger the defrag but I am concerned about the impact of running the defrag. Is there any risk to the data in the existing LUNs on the disk group or the performance? I expect there to be an impact on performance but not sure what to expect. The disk groups are all running production loads to need to be aware of the risks involved. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi there, We are due to replace our two Cisco Pix firewalls with the latest equivalent from Cisco. ASA's i believe. I am also looking at options for replacing the physical firewalls with virtual ones. Has anyone had any previous experiences of doing a similar thing. We have 4 physcial ESX hosts running vsphere 4.1 enterprise licences. I am interested in exploring the option of running the firewall and providing high availability using vmware HA. Any thoughts, ideas or experiences? Thanks in advance

Hi All, Not too sure if this is the best forum for this but I couldn't see a better one. Feel free to move it mods if required to a more appropriate place! We are running into problems with our current phone system and are looking for recommendations from anyone on here. We've had a few particularly bad experiences with a couple of companies so I'm looking for recommendations. We currently have an asteriks based phone system with around 40 extensions. We are looking for someone who will help us investigate our issues and look to supply, install and configure a new phone system with the minimal disruption. Thanks
