Yes CPC do one, Begs the question, will it convert the output from a PAL VCR playing a SECAM tape into a PAL output. Saves buying the french VCR at all.

I have come across this Samsung beast in my search, but dismissed it thinking I might find a cheaper one. Doesn't look like it. One option is to buy one, then use it to convert all their tapes to dvd. Does anyone know of any french suppliers who would ship to the uk.

Hi all, The modern Languages Dept. is on at me to get them some VCRs that will play the french SECAM tapes they have. Our PAL VCRs will read them of course but will only play them in black and white due to the difference in the colour encoding on broadcast. I've searched the internet for multi system VCRs but all the ones i have found have been for the american market and state they play meSecam. I know the French system is SECAM L. Does anyone know if these american VCRs will a: work on PAL tvs and b: play French SECAM L tapes. Or if anyone has found a true MULTI system VCR could they let me know details. Craig Newlyn. Hi, Thanks again, I see what you mean now. I guess I was hoping to be lazy and only run one cable in the installation. If I can't find out about the projectors then I'll have to run composite, S-video and VGA cables up to the projector and use an infra red extender like you say. It would still be handy to know if projectors will generally take the output from an upscaler as any external switching is always far smoother and professional than the changing of input sources (well I think so anyway).

Hi, unfortunately it is a pre-requisite of the installation that the PC is connected to the projector. Which either means permanently downgrading the pc signal to composite video via a scan converter then using a switchbox/mixer or using an upscaler to provide a switchable vga input. From a quality point of view I would prefer the latter. Thanks for the idea though.

Hi, I'm looking into buying an Upscaler such as the AVT 3340 from AVtoolbox.co.uk (other companies have the same product in a different colored box). The plan is to run all video signals down a vga cable as the projector when installed will not be accessible for switching remotely. The problem is this little gizmo produces an output that it says is only suitable for 50hz monitors. The projector will either be a Philips sv20 or Sony CS5 and I can't find whether they would be compatible. Please help asap before we waste money on an unusable item.

The computer in question is WiFi enabled.

Hi, I'm new to all this but I'm hoping you guys can help me. We have reports from a teacher today that a pupils PDA (psion I think) is controlling the whiteboard cursor. We haven't had any joy from promethean yet. Anybody else come up against this. Any solutions. Catch u later Bill & Ted.
