I have had a great experience using Boxee at home to index, browse and watch films, listening to music and viewing pictures.
This morning I thought about its application in a school environment, where resources could be stored centrally on a NAS box or something similar. Boxee handles network shares and would be able to stream the resources direct to the end user.
Obviously this could have a serious impact on network bandwidth and responsiveness but I wondered if anyone else had thought about this. Would it be advisable to roll out to one media rich department only?!
What are your thoughts on this? In principle, it could be the perfect media hub for faculties to share and technicians could download all video resources to one place.
