Again, Agreed with everyone else here, You will need alot of updates to be applied as well as possibly rebuilding EVERY computer within the network, you will need SR1 and SR2 as a minimum as well as a few other updates that are required for them two and possibly even CC4UPD001 if it was an early build. Can you post what updates are installed and the server build version. (PM me if you need help getting this) as that may give us a better indication. As said above you will have alot of updating to do which is alot of time, Finally what are the main problems you appear to be having as we had an early version of CC4 so may be able to help where possible. Thanks

I have heard that it doesn't work on CC4.3 but I know somebody who has CC4.3 and installed the regular CC4(CC4.2) version of Auditor and said it worked fine, But I personally wouldn't try it. Although according to RM you wont have long too wait and could possibly field trial it for them. I do feel sorry for most CC4.3 people as it seemed rather rushed to get it out there instead of waiting for it to work as various other things do not work either such as Printer Credits etc... Thanks, Paul

Hello all, Does anyone else here run Auditor 1.2 on CC4 we had it when we upgraded from CC3 to CC4 and am looking to speak to people who have got Auditor on there CC4 Network if so can you PM me or post here your reviews of it as I want to see what other people think of it! Thanks, Paul

A few quick questions, 1. Is Comms and Security Installed and is Service Host working. 2. Why do you want to restore the DB ?? 3. How old is the backup of the DB when was it made. I have a CC4 Network and CC4 is hugely reliant on the DB and make one small little change and BOOM bye bye CC4. I may be able to give you advice but be very careful and do it at your own risk .... Also could you not restore the server from a backup tape if it is bad.

Personally I would create a whole new domain just to remove all the old RM stuff etc, It has been years since I worked with CC3 but the safest option is a whole new domain and at a push recreate the accounts as sometimes the RM side of things adds extra stuff to the account which may cause problems, The My Documents side should be fine if you delete the My Settings Folder and UMFolder.ini My CC3 Knowledge is a liitle out of date so it may not be quite accurate. Moving to new flat...tips for getting broadband asap?
Paul_Warner replied to sidewinder's topic in General Chat
Wow, I have to admit I would be the complete opossite of that, I am with Sky with there all in package and find them very good when we moved and had any issues, I rung them up and told them when we were moving and to where etc, sent through the details and on the day of the move the interent got cut off and actiavted straight away, they even sent us an entire new kit for the Internet, As well as that they even activated the TV signal at the new house staright away, Very good I thought and they really were good Again, I don't think I have had a singal issue with there service (TV, Phone or Internet) and there customer service in my opinion. That is all my opionion of them but I really do think they are one of the best companies going, However on the other hand AOL is just awful entirely including there non UK / English Speaking Customer Service Team, That is an entirely diffrent story all together. Thanks -
Hello all, I have got a really small but annoying problem on our CC4 DC, Every time you launch the RMMC for some reason it seems to rebuild the RegtreeCache EVERYTIME, It's more annoying than anything as normally it only takes 30 -50 seconds to do but I have no idea why it is doing it and as far as I can tell it is pretty random as to why it has been doing it, Its only on the Server that its doing it. Does anyone know how to stop it from rebuilding it everytime, Thanks, Paul

Have you asked RM to Field Trial CC4UPD109 (I think thats the right one) as they are currently in Field Trial for release in February 2012, It is supposed to be much petter than teh exsiting CC4 Printer Credits as they have had to rewrite evrything (As mentioned above) as teh regualr CC4 one is a very bad Add-On pack and extras for the CC3 one, If you have a valid Support Contract you should be able to Field Trial it just send an email to them (Email is on the Update page or PM me for it) I have to admit teh 2008 CC4 System is much better and well built but i do think they should have waited a little longer and spent more time on it and getting it to work fully than partly. Hopefully though by the time they release CC4SR3 they will make everything work on CC4, However overall it is still a good improvement.

Urgent RM CC4 Comms & Security Problem
Paul_Warner replied to Paul_Warner's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Thanks, Yes it is the Service Host Account I was thinking of, However if it is random then there is very little hope, Im tempted to revert the server back to the Commissioning Tape we have of when it was first built (Just the C and D Drives but not the Active Directory etc), However I have a few problems with that our CC4 Network was one of the first which needed CC4UPD001 which along with CC4 SR1 I unfortuantely do not have access to these discs and so therefore if I did it would be very hard to update and get to the right version. How would I be able to get hold of CC4UPD001 and CC4 SR1 without a Support Contract ? Or would it be best to just stay how I am and hope to fix the server, @Edu-IT I understand that and tehre are quite a few reasons, Unfortuantely there is nothing I can do at the moment and am just hoping I can get it fixed very soon as the CC4 Network is in even worse state than before. Finally does anyone have acceess to the CC3 to CC4 Upgrade DVD when it was given out a few years ago, If so can you PM me and I can explain in more detail. Thanks All -

Urgent RM CC4 Comms & Security Problem
Paul_Warner replied to Paul_Warner's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Hello Andy, Thanks for your reply, the trouble with doing that is I would loose so much stuff in the proccess of settings and details etc configured after the problem which I need to hold unto that is why restoring is going to be my last resort, also I just can not understand why it fails to install as there should be no reason why it should fail, However thank you very much for your reply. -
Urgent RM CC4 Comms & Security Problem
Paul_Warner replied to Paul_Warner's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Hi there, I have made some progress with Comms and Security but still can not get it to install, I have attached the MSI Logfile that I created with it, Data Access Layer is working but only has one load of information in the CONFIG file, However I can manually add the remaining details but am just wondering why it only has one section. Below is what is in Data Access Layer Again any help would be greatly appreciated and as for Comms and Security the file is v2.6.0.0 and is 1.3MB incase that is important commsandsecurity.txt Thanks all
