  1. Yes, but there's several problems with these - the majority are radio controlled clocks which don't work inside our heavily insulated building so are next to useless. Normal wall clocks would be OK but they are hard to keep synchronised between 40 classrooms, just like staff's watches. We just need a definitive signal to everyone that the lesson is to end as it can be difficult if one teacher lets pupils leave even a minute before others as then children are outside teaching areas while another teacher is still packing up etc etc. Similarly if a staff member forgets for whatever reason to look at the clock, the automated message/sound would be a reminder. Hope that explains more!
  2. We have a new system in school whereby one floor of the school operates lessons half the length of the other 3 floors. The Head has asked me to look into a system on our PCs which will flash up on teacher computers that the lessons on the top floor are due to end - so that lessons on this floor can change over without the main school bell disturbing the other floors. Has anyone any experience of such software which they could recommend? it would need to reliably display the message/play the sound at the same time on every PC on a set schedule, but be able to be restricted to certain machines on the network only. Any advice appreciated.
  3. We have just started to using this too and I must say I am hugely impressed. Things that need adding are the ability to further divide permissions into class groups or form groups (rather than just 'Students') but I'm sure this will come in time. Looking forward to seeing how this product develops.
  4. I have installed the Win 8 Developer Preview on our RM Slates too and it looks great - but I can't get the Millennium application to go on to sort out the auto screen brightness issue. It keeps wanting to download .net Framework 3.5 then failing to install Millennium. Can anyone confirm if the auto brightness is still an issue in RTM Windows 8 as we will probably use RM CC4 to build them using this ultimately. It would be a perfect little tablet if the brightness issue could be sorted once and for all. thanks
