Firstly, thanks to everyone for their help, our site is coming along nicely! I was wondering whereabouts (and in which file) can i set the site's default font? I would like every article written in Tahoma size 11. But I cant seem to do it anywhere. also...i am using rokwebify orange, and above the menus, the title e.g. curriculum menu, parents menu is pink. How/where do i change the colour? I would like to change it to black, im sure its in a css file somewhere, but not sure where! any suggestions?

i updated flash and also re-uploaded the slideshow module/component and it seems fine now.

i had a joomla 1.0 install, i have since (via ftp) deleted it and installed the 1.5.3 and 1.5.4 installs. But no matter which option i choose in the installation process i cant get the edugeek joomla sample sites to install. If i choose 'install sample data' i get a load of stuff from the joomla pages, if i dont, then i have 1 news item and no menus at all, a completely blank site i would have to create module etc from scratch. i am with 1and1. should i delete the mysql database and start again? any suggestions? ive just uploaded joomla 1.5.3 (and then upgraded to 1.5.4) and the pictures dont show up. Usually there are scrolling/rotating pics of running, computers etc but they dont show up on my computer (or the ones at school) However, trying it on two friends computers, the pictures show up fine. Are there some settings somewhere that need to be changed/adjusted? Any ideas? Trosnant Junior School to go and check it out!

ok...I'm going to go with Cs-new media noob questions now... should i go for windows or linux? which of their options should i go for? what are the absolute must-haves for a joomla site? I wish to install a calendar too, use ftp (possibly the ftp layer in joomla if i can!) my-sql ms-sql whats the difference? do i need one or the other or both? Windows & Linux Web Hosting :: CS New Media Web Hosting they have bronze silver etc...size isnt a huge issue as we will mainly be hosting documents etc, but its all the other stuff! any advice would be great!!! i dont want to sign u to the wrong package, like i did with one.com!

Hi there I was wondering, who do people suggest for hosting a joomla site? I have gone with one.com and they are awful. I cannot install a php calendar, i cannot change my configuration.php file through joomla (i have to edit and then upload it) i cant set file permissions with a CHMOD.php file, i cant install extensions or modules either! any suggestions of a cheap provider? the local LEA charge £100 a year to convert the free hosting option to one with MySQL and thats with very limited space, maybe 50/100mb any ideas?!? is there anyone with one.com that can help me out?

haha thanks guys... neither very helpful though anyone got ay suggestions? i deleted the bgcolour file and it just took out the red one. i might have a bit more of a play tonight and see what happens

I have uploaded a logo via ftp and the first time the page loads, the school logo is there for about 1 second, then it disappears Trosnant Junior School any ideas???

I have my site working all nicely, got a site setup n about 6 hours, much much easier than joomla 1.0! but when i upload an image, it says that it cant connect to my ftp. I have used the same ftp address, username and password as when i connect to the site using an external ftp program but it wont work. I also cant change the configuration file as it says it can not open it to write to it. I assume I need to change the permission on the config file, but even with it being 777 and all boxes ticked, it still wont connect via joomla's ftp. I managed to get docman working, but now its the config and image uploaders...any ideas? here is my error message JFTP::connect: Could not connect to host "ftp.*mydomainname*.co.uk" on port 21 JFTP::_putCmd: Not connected to the control port JFTP::_mode: Bad response JFTP::_passive: Not connected to the control port JFTP::write: Unable to use passive mode Message An Error has occurred! Unable to open configuration.php file to write!

I bought a new pc, my username and password for my hampshire school ftp account was store don there (yes i know i shouldve written it down) the password has been reset/changed and now i cant access my school's website. any ideas? Hulbert Junior School - Offline its just a joomla error message saying it cant connect to the datatbase! where in joomla do i need to put the new password ive been given? any help is appreciated!! Ian
