I dont know how relevant this will be as you are not looking to remote app SIMS but as you mentioned it I thought it may help as a rough guide. We have used RemoteApp for our teachers access to SIMS, just taking a quick look at the server I would say your looking at about 100-150MB of memory per user. If you are interested in any other details of our setup then let me know. I wanted to setup a TSGateway aswell but its such a pain getting any firewall changes done that I havent got round to doing it yet. I would recommend giving RemoteApp SIMS a go anyway as its much easier to manage and runs very well.

Thanks for the ideas, it turns out they used to use PDA's to access SIMS Mobile. They stopped using them though because the PDA's wireless was so unreliable. They do have laptops but say that although they work fine it is too awkward to carry them round all their classes. It looks like I might have to dig out these old PDA's and see why they are so unreliable.

Can anyone recommend a method for registering pupils for PE lessons? The teachers are currently using a shared desktop but this is taking too long. It would be nice to know what others are doing.

Is that a connection limit set in ISA? We haven't set one so I assume it would be whatever the default setting is.

*UPDATE* It seems to be letting through about 1 email everytime it connects to the SMTP server.

Thanks guys, am making progress with the server and have solved this problem. As you said it was the rules, also a few network issues our end.

Hi, We have recently swapped out our existing firewall/proxy for ISA 2006, having created rules matching the ones found on the existing server every except e-mail seems to be working properly. Our SMTP server is managed by our ISP and our exchange server is managed by us and is behind ISA. ISA is set up with NAT on port 25 to forward to the Exchange server. All e-mail gets out fine. The problem is that some e-mail is not getting through and some is getting through slowly. We didn't have any problems before the swap which leads me to think its a problem with ISA. After monitoring for SMTP events on ISA it seems that the SMTP Initiates a connection succesfully, closes it, then there are usually the following errors... SMTP - 25 - 0x80074e21 FWX_E_ABORTIVE_SHUTDOWN SMTP - 25 - 0xc0040017 FWX_E_TCP_NOT_SYN_PACKET_DROPPED Does anyone have any idea what these errors are about and if they could be causing the problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, We are just trying to install an ISA server to replace the existing proxy. When the sever is sat in the same place as the proxy and given the same Network settings it can see the outside world fine and also see back in to the network. The problem is that after installing ISA the server can no longer see the internet, no pings, no internet, no nothing. Any ideas? Have tried adding a rule to allow all traffic from anywhere to anywhere but that doesn't seem to help. I know this probly quite a hard one to help with but i was just wondering if there was anything obvious that needs doing. Thanks

We are currently deploying Serif PagePlus through GP but want to get the software up to date. The Patch comes in the form of an MSP from Serif, what would be the easiest way of deploying this? I really dont want to have to remove it from the 100+ machines it is currently on... Help!
