copyandpaste

Hi I'm having a problem with my ipod classic, it will appear in my computer but not in itunes. I was told it needed restoring, so i have done this but it still hasn't fixed it. I have tried using different pc's, different usb ports, changing it to a disc drive, toggling buttons, waiting! but still nothing. Any ideas?
