Hi there I've had a couple of students come to see me this morning, saying that their images in their Powerpoint files have disappeared. At first I thought it might have been a problem with the source of the image no longer being available. But the students say they've copied and pasted the images into the PPTX. Each image is replaced with the following message " The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file." Any one know what that is? I found a Microsoft Office Community Post saying its a know problem and is either caused by Cloud Synchronizing of the file or an AV scan locking it? I don't think its either though. We do use Office 365 for emails and are looking to linking Skydrive to users home directories, but its not active yet. Been using the same Anti Virus system since the summer, and this is the first I've heard of it? Hi Matt Not to sure. I employed a company to fit the servers for me during the summer. I asked them that and they said no. They claim that the accounts that they used didn't have internet access enabled and therefore they didn't setup any connection to Time Servers. Then they blamed me saying that the login I used does have internet connection. Hence why I'm not asking them for help. I'm still learning my way around 2012 at the moment. Had a 2003 RM system before. I can't find anything saying the PDC is looking for a time server. But not 100% sure where to look. N

Hi there Does anyone know an easy way to block access to the Wireless icon in the bottom right hand of the desktop? I've discovered that students can log into other SSID's this morning and its causing problems with students access stuff they shouldn't be able to. I employed an IT company to install my network over the summer, won't say who obviously. Students didn't have access to anything in that corner of the screen, but I had some requests for Volume control and date and time settings. So I asked the company to give the student user access to this. They did so but also gave them access to the full task bar/ system tray. Now the students can access the wireless settings, as well as. Pretty sure the change was made in group policy, so just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to where it would be or how to block this? Thanks N

Hi guys For some reason the time on all my servers and workstations is 2 minutes fast. Can't work out why or how to change this. I have Windows 2012 Server and Win 7 64 bit workstations. I've been told that all machines should look to my PDC for the time. I changed to the correct time on the PDC and then after a few minutes I noticed that my workstation had updated. Great I thought. Throughout the rest of the day, I noticed other workstations around my school had changed too. Even Better. I then came in the next day and discovered my workstation was 2 minutes fast again. I checked and all of my servers were the same, including my PDC. Any ideas or advise as to why this is? Like wise how's the best way to fix the issue? I've looked and found a couple of help articles on Microsoft, but they didn't work? Thanks for that AngryTech. Is there away to wirlessly connect it to a projector though? Sorry should have said that. The idea is that the teacher can walk around the classroom and use it interactively instead of sitting at the front of the classroom. Hence why I said I'd looked at Display Note for the Ipad?

Hi Everyone My Academy is toying with whether or not to buy IPad's or Surface's for teaching staff next year. Possibly roll out 1:1 for students in the next academic year. For Months we were set on the IPads but then Microsoft released the new pricing so it’s making us think. I personally love the Surface. I have one myself and use it every day at work. Having Office pre installed and a Windows OS is makes my life a lot easier. I did own an IPad beforehand but never used it practically for work. I mainly used it to play Star Wars Angry Birds and surf the web. The question I have is; How would I connect the Surface to a projector in each classroom? We’re undergoing a complete IT refurbishment and will be buying Smart Projectors in every classroom. Each classroom will also have a Standard desktop connected to the projector. At the moment all staff have laptops which they carry everywhere. I’m going to be ditching these completely though. Instead we were looking at IPads for the staff to use in the classroom as well as home use. Still got questions marks on them. Whether or not to use Diplay Note or such programs, or just use Apple TV. With the Surfaces though I don’t have a clue where to start so any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi there I'm having problems activating Sibelius 7 on a Mac. Every time I try after a minute or so I get a response saying it cannot reach the activation server. The School I work has a Filtering & Firewall system which is controlled off site by both my LEA and another company. Pretty sure it’s being blocked. I contacted Avid support and they said make sure port 3443 is open. I've asked for this to happen and 3 weeks later it was done. I still can't activate the software though. Has anyone else had this problem or similar? Does anyone know what the URL's are or website addresses for Sibelius's activation servers? Also as I don't speak very good Mac and its possible that I haven't configured the proxy correctly? So if anyone knows more about that as well then it greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks Bossman. I completely agree with your point. When it comes to hardware and replacement parts, I always buy from the manufacturer. The issue I have though is that I've tried that and already bought 9 batteries direct from RM and none of them work. I've contacted Rm and over 3 weeks has pasted now and I still don't have any answers. At one point their Hardware Support team refused to speak to me because the laptop I had in front of me was out of warranty, even though I had explained that I had tested the new battery's on 4 different laptops. Getting quite desperate now which is why I posted hoping someone else has had a similar problem and had some advice.

Hi there First time posting so bare with me. Basically I’m looking for information on where I can buy replacement batteries for RM Laptops. I work at a Secondary School with an RM CC3 network. The teaching staff all have laptops, mainly Nbook 4300 & 4400 models. None of my teachers know how to look after the batteries and a large amount of them have started to fail or only last a matter of minutes. I’ve bought replacements from RM direct in the past but I’ve had 9 sent to me in the last couple of weeks and not one of them works. Each of the new battery’s sent are made by 2 Power so I’ve suggested to RM that it must be a supplier problem as I haven’t had any problems before with other models. But RM support sucks and they aren’t getting back to me. Getting kinda desperate now so like I said before I’m looking for any information of where I can get some batteries from would be great. Thanks
