  1. Hi Griff and apearson, if you message me your contact details I will get a member of our support desk to contact you as a high priority to investigate this further, Regards, Jonathan Wood SIMS Product Manager
  2. Hi Gatt, If you let me know your name/contact details I'll get someone to call you and get your SIMS Mobile system up and running. Regards, Jonathan Wood SIMS Product Manager (Technical and Releases)
  3. Hi FragglePete, Hopefully I can help you with the costing for SIMS mobile. The SIMS Mobile software is only charged per device as a one-off initial cost. The maintenance fee is annual and is not per device. Therefore, from the information you've posted, once you have paid the one off cost for the software for each device, your annual charge should only be a standard flat rate (for example £400), not per device. Hi Antoekee, If you are still having issues with the offline functionality then let me know the case number and I'll make sure it gets looked at asap. Regards, Jonathan Wood SIMS Product Manager - Technical and Releases
  4. Hi Pete, Using the /OUTPUT parameter the command reporter can be used to export data into csv, xml or rtf format simply by changing the extension of the filename you want to create. It does not export data into xls format. If you want a copy of the documentation to explore the use of parameters further then you can do this by requesting a copy via your SIMS Support unit. Hope this helps. Regards, Jonathan Wood
  5. Hi, My name is Jonathan Wood and I'm the SIMS Product manager for Technical Products and Releases. Capita have looked into and used MSI Installers before, however we moved to WISE Installers (the ones you see now when you install/upgrade SIMS) to allow us to provide a simple yet robust method of deploying SIMS.net client files. Using MSI installers with our COM DLL's (version 6.nn software) required greater access to the registry which therefore increased the likelyhood of needing administration rights to upgrade/install. They are also inherently more complex - generally leading to an increased failure rates for our customers. Whilst those customers (mainly those on this site!) with a good, managed deployment system can intrinsically control and configure their system to meet the MSI requirements, those without this style of setup cannot and could suffer because of it. Interestingly, I've only seen one change request raised by a customer this year to request that we look into the use of MSI installers and it has not really been supported by that many of our users. We are constantly looking at improving the deployment of SIMS so if you have any suggestions or want to discuss any points in this area further please feel free to email me at [email protected] I hope the above helps. Regards, Jon
  6. Hi TeddyKGB, I was talking about the SA account in SQL itself. i.e. when you installed SQL Server you were asked to input a password for the SA account. this is the password you will need. The SA login is not linked to an individual database and therefore not related to the SIMS database itself. i.e. we cannot inform you of the SA password for the blank SIMS Database because that concept does not exist, only the concept of the main SQL Server itself having one. The team/person who installed/maintains the SQL Server should know this. I hope this helps. Regards, Jon
  7. Hi TeddyKGB My name is Jonathan Wood and I am the new SIMS Product Manager for Technical Products and Releases. Its my understanding that only the SQL System Administrator username/password can be used in DBAttach. If you are unhappy with the service you have had from Capita regarding your query then please email me the case number and I will investigate. Regards, Jon SIM Product Manager (Technical and Releases)
