i verified the files already and it didnt do anything

at first, i got decently far into the game without it crashing, then all of a sudden i would get to one spot where i would look into a door and it would crash. now it doesnt matter where i am, usually at the beginning of a level it crashes. And CSS also does this now.

yeah i got the driver update from the nvidia website and it didnt do anything. also this has started occurring in other steam games such as CSS

its crashing in gameplay. usually in one specific spot

im not too fluent in computer language but i did try it in comparability mode and it continued to crash

so i got the first portal to help decide if i want the new one and before i even think about playing it it crashes. I downloaded this through steam and every time it crashes it says hl2.exe has stopped working. Ive tried reinstalling, updating drivers, and loads of other things to no avail. Any help would really just make my day thanks
