Hi, I've just run through the following process, using the S7000 simulator and a windows2003 Enterprise edition server. Set an Initiator. Do this in the iscsi service configuration on the S7000. Initiator Alias: This can be anything, but best to use a meaningful name such as the name of the windows server. IQN: The IQN copied from the general tab on the windows iscsi tool. CHAP name: This can be anything, I used 'SUNNAS'. CHAP secret: This is the shared password. Create a LUN. In the protocol properties of the LUN untick inherit from project. The initiator we set up should be visible, tick the box next to it to allow it access. In Windows. Add the target portal, using the ip address or hostname of the S7000. In the targets tab, select the target IQN of the LUN and click Logon. Tick automatically restore and click advanced. Tick CHAP authentication information. In Username put the CHAP name we specified earlier, in this case SUNNAS. In taget secret, put the secret we specified earlier. Click 'ok' and 'ok' again and the lun should be connected. Hi Chris, From what I have read on the 7410 performance testing blog, NFS seems to be considered the fastest protocol available on the 7410. This would go for any use including ESXi storage. Rick

Hi Chris, I've been testing tools4ever today using the 7000 series simulator. It works fine to create user folders within a share set up with the Sun web interface. I would create a profiles share and perhaps a userspace share for each year group. That way the tools4ever script can create all the user folders within the shares and can inherit permissions from the Root ACL. You could then do as Ric suggested and use something like Robocopy to move the existing user folders to the new shares. This does not help with the quota issue though. I have sent you an email with details of the permissions I used during my testing. I hope it's of some use to you! Rick

I've managed to test Xenserver 5 on an X4150, with VMs stored on the Sun S7000 simulator via iSCSI. Works with no problems here.

Hi Paul, We fixed this error by manually adding Read+Execute permissions for 'Domain Users' on the client32.ini in the Ranger Remote Control Folder, and also on every .ini file in the TS subfolder.
