am trying to install eportal webparts into sharepoint but keep getting an error message - The "MainStuContactProviderWebPart" Web Part appears to be causing a problem. Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Does anyone know what this means? Has anyone actually gone down the sharepoint route and if so is it worth pursuing? Any help would be appreciated

we had same prob here where comments with spaces would not save. An upgrade to 2.81.7.0 with the latest patch from serco fixed this....which version are you on?
