Hi all, apologies if this post is in the wrong place. I am currently in the process if trialling Chrome Flex on a number of devices (DFE laptops) in order to extend the life. We are a Microsoft based school but have a google presence as well and have linked the two using the 'Directory Sync beta' to allow users to login with their Microsoft credentials. All was working well until a couple of weeks ago when users would receive an 'error 500' message after entering their password. We have carried out a number of tests and it appears that our IP is being blocked temporarily by either Google or Microsoft. Working with our ISP we were able to give one of the Chromebooks a different outward facing address while keeping the firewall and filtering rules in place and it worked as normal. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience as I have been trawling the internet for hours with no luck. Thank you in advance Michael

Hi all, I need to collate some data regarding network storage; file type, size, age, user totals etc... and was wondering what others use to do this. The amount of data we currently backup is spiraling out of control so I would like to impose limits on student user areas. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I need to present the data to out SLT next week. Cheers Mike

Hi, Just wondering what sort of price people pay for the MIS system, we are currently in negotiations to renew our contract for our current MIS provider and I'm taken aback by the steep increase in price (4.5k a year). Not too sure if I'm allowed to ask such questions on here so apologies if I'm not. Any information would be greatly appreciated

We have recently purchased (last 12 months) a number Konica Minolta lasers, both mono and colour and I am very pleased with the quality and cost of the products. We did have a unit which was dead on arrival but an engineer was on-site next day and a replacement was provided within 2 days. Also the toners that are included with the printer are high capacity rather than half full like some manufactures provide. Definitely worth a look. Michael

No we don't use RM ourselves but support a few Primary schools that do. We are running 2003 server, Exchange, etc... Part of the Job spec would be to Support the Primary Schools so knowledge of CC3 would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

We use Facility CMIS here and are in the process of installing 4 Biometric scanners for 6th Form registration and to replace our late book. We currently us eportal for our registration and the installers are tailoring the system to enable us to use both methods. It is not being used yet as I'm taking a lot of time writing the consent letter to keep the parents on-side so I can't comment on the reliability but the scanners look almost bomb proof. Would agree completely with Ninjabeaver, we have been using IJT for about 3-4 years now and the quality seems to be getting worse with every batch. We only buy for HP and have stopped using their Re-mans in all of our colour lasers as they leaked all the time (Magenta). I'm currently looking for a new supplier if anyone would like to make a recommendation?
