SMART usually don't let you run their software on a competitors board. Which country are you in? You might be able to get a special licence if you ask the resellers. Easiteach Next Gen is available for use on any board and is actually OK. It's about the same standard as SMART now but with a lot smaller on-line community and resource base as it's so new. What kind of things are your teachers hoping to achieve with the software?

Yes! Smart Notebook 10 has the ability to convert the older .flp files into Smart files If you convert them all then you can use the software that came with the board and avoid tricky licensing issues. http://www.teachertechnologies.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/smartconvert.gif The fomatting looks fine (I've just done it on my machine to see) and they are fully editable. You will never lose interactivity and the smart files will work just as they did on their original board. The board is just a big mouse after all

Hello If you have Activ Inspire then you can indeed import notebook files. The software will convert them into .Flipchart (the standard Promethean Format).(Won't let me put an image in until I've made a post so I'll submit the image under this one!) In Notebook 10 you can also go File> Import and choose a Promethean file. At the moment, as far as I can see, you can only import older Promethean file formats (.flp) These are from legacy software ActivStudio /Activ Primary V3. I don't think you can import flipcharts from the newer software (about 3 years old now) Activ Inspire. The file extension for these is .flipchart.
