I have a Dell Optiplex 320, and my OS is Windows 7 which is an upgrade from my win exp prof. Also I have service pack 2 installed. Memory has been upgraded to 4 gigs because of Dell support suggested that the old memory were faulty. Bios has been upgraded to the latest, I think 1.1.12 and also the chipset too has been upgraded.
But always when I am done I have to follow the following sequencing of powering off.
I have to unplug the cable, and then hold down the power button for 5 seconds. To power on and reboot, I have to plug the power cable, and then press the power button.
If I do not follow this method as suggested by Support, my Dell hangs up at 4/5th of the way and stays there.
But even following this process is not a sure thing as i sometimes have to do it about 2 to 3 times before the Dell can boot successfully.
This Dell was a gift when my old Gateway pc dropped dead on me, so I am new to the Dell environment.
Can anyone please suggest any fix for this problem. Thanks.
