When I used gpresult to see which server the user group policy was applied from, it was the old server. So I guess its the former, I'll try your suggestion. nslookup shows the correct servers, but I remember a problem earlier this year when the old server was shown and to solve I removed the old server from the DNS records.

Some of our pupil accounts are using a demoted (and since removed from the network) server. This is causing them to load incorrect profiles. How can I remove this server from the user configuration?
