I have changed it to update and still nothing. I have now even re-done the policy again using that link you had put before. One thing is do I still need to have the printers in the print management console or do I remove the printers from there? Also I have put this policy under the workstation OU is this ok or does it need to go under the user OU? Thanks for your help again and sorry for being such a pain - gets frustrating when something work and you dont know why :S

does anyone have a method which works please?
-
This hasnt worked for all users on all machines. Some machines have changed the default printer to the correct one but always havent. Tried gpupdate force but still nothing.
-
I am adding it to computer OU. I have not enabled loopback processing so will give that a try. Thanks
-
It does set a default printer however it does not set the printer I have selected in the group policy to be the default printer, it just sets any printer out of the ones deployed as default. Hope someone can help.

Hi, I have set printers using print management which adds the printers using group policy. I have then set the default printer by adding the printers to the user configuration (Preferences\Control Panel Settings\Printers) where I add the printer as a shared printer. I have then selected the default option for the printer I want to set as default. I have then added the OUs which this GP is for in the item targetting level. This policy sets the correct printer however doesn't set the correct default printer. Has anyone deployed printers in server 2008 using group policy and been able to set the correct default printer? Thanks in advance

Thats great Chuckster thanks very much I have manually deleted the folders - they won't appear again will they?

I have found in staff areas that there are folders Recycle Bin and Recycler which contain files in and is taking up space. I do not want these folders saving however they are hidden. There are also .rdp and .ini files for which I have used the file screening to restrict but need a way of restricting the 2 recycle folders as I found one which had 1GB of data in it. Thanks
-
I have also got hidden folders - Recycler and Recycle Bin any way of restricting these from being saved. Thanks again

Hi, Is there any way of restricting hidden files from being saved into home directories by any chance? I am currently using FSRM for file restrictions but can't find anything there. Thanks in advance
-
See I am struggling abit as I have some students with 200MB of files in their area. This is a primary school and feel there is no need for them to have this much data. I have teachers with 10GB of data and because there has been no restrictions before I came they have just saved and saved. I don't know how I am going to get teachers down, I have asked them to clear up space but this has made no difference :S
-
Hi, I am just setting up restrictions on student directories and was wondering what the maximum space you have given to students. I was thinking 50MB however have a few students with more so though 100MB. Also how have you set your restrictions I am using FSRM. Your opinions please. Thanks

Decisions decisions! (IWB & Projectors, interactive projectors)
drk84 replied to Little-Miss's topic in Hardware
Has it been decided which works better interactive whiteboards or interactive projectors. I have been looking into the projectors however my only concern is having a normal board to project on is good but seems like it is going back to old school chalk style as the teachers will use the board for this. Where as with IWBs they can't and would need to use the pens for it. Any suggestions please -
Hi, Did you get this sorted?

Hi, We are looking at getting a new MIS in place. Currently it is old school and we have Hebron. I was wondering if you lot could help me out at what options to take and costs aswell. I have looked at SIMS and CMIS and also looked at ScholarPack but not sure. Are there any other systems you would recommend and what is the best system to go for? Thanks in advance
