We used DVDStyler this year to burn their PhotoStory videos but the output quality was terrible. We used to use Movie Maker but it has been pulled by MS and I have yet to find a link that doesn't just point to the MS website. Does anyone happen to have a good link?

Looking for a free alternative to Photo Story for teachers that want to create slideshows, and preferably something that includes DVD authoring ability. Photostory only saves in WMV so thats a pain when trying to find a free DVD authoring software so it would be nice to find an all in one solution.

Yeah that's an option but more of a last resort. I'd like something a little more locked down like chromeos, hence Neverware. I really expected them to come out with an option to work with these older chromebooks.

Has anyone looked into options for EOL chromebooks? We have a lot of the original Samsung 303c's that will be EOL soon but most are working fine. I would hate to have this many devices that we cannot use that really should be usable in some capacity, even if it's just for library search. According to google once they are EOL they will no longer receive updates and I've seen what happens when a chromebook gets a couple of versions out of date. The browser will just sit and reload every few seconds, it's really a pain. So obviously we won't just be able to use them as is with an old OS. One thought I had was to try and load Neverware Cloudready on them but it looks like that would require some work to get it to install. Just wanted to see what others have thought of.

We are looking at moving a lot of our forms online utilizing Google Forms and have them saved in Drive as a PDF. That part's no problem but we have several that for instance a teacher fills out and it needs to be signed by the Principal. How are you guys handling things like this? I've been trying to find an extension or app that can easily open that PDF, user signs, then the changes are saved in Drive but I'm coming up empty. All the apps I'm finding are just web services and they all save the pdf on their own storage rather than in the original Drive location. We also have the option to save the files as a Google Doc instead of PDF if anyone has any suggestions on a way to proceed. Thanks for any help.

We are looking into the possibility of storing some confidential files within Google Drive. We are slowly moving everything this direction and the question came up within our administration office about confidential information and how safe it is. I've read a few articles on how attornies are using Google Drive for file storage and see that they are both ferpa and hippa compliant so I'm sure legally we would be within our bounds to do this but we're more interested in real world possibilities. Is anyone else doing this yet?
