  1. I'm had the exact same issue for some time now , it happens intermittently and to random machines just after you get to the login screen. Only happens when on network & if you leave network cable out until login screen then it logs in ok. I've tried everything i can think of , reimaged , updated drivers for NIC , installed second NIC , removed / readded from domain , re-registered dns..checked event logs on server , everything else you can think of... It even happened to a VM and also to a brand new reimaged PC as soon as it was plugged into network.. Anyone have any thoughts ?
  2. I think i've made a little progress with this... Going to use ifmember in a .bat file to map drive to server\share\%username% However first of all I need to create folders on share with %username% and permissions. Trying to figure out how to export the usernames from the users in the security group. Can anyone help ? Cheers
  3. Thanks Chris , not really sure where to begin with the scripting , Has anyone got a similar setup ??
  4. Hi All, Was looking for some help with the following.... I'm looking at setting up a music file server for kids to store there (legitimite) music files. It would work pretty much in the same way as there home drive where pupils could access own folder only. The share however would only be mapped for members of the school_musicpupils security group. I've setup a share which a security group can access before but its how i set it up so that it creates an individual folder for each member of the security group (%username% variable ?) Any help appreciated ! thanks
  5. Are you using IE7 ? If so try without add-ins , I found the realpayer g2 plugin caused IE to crash frequently especially on the bbc site.
  6. Issue with flash detailed here:- http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/28984981/issues-with-ie7--flash.aspx 2 fixes that I have tried that both work:- 1. Add individual full url to trusted site 2. add registy value:- . Navigate to the following Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl Add the following sub key: FEATURE_BLOCK_LMZ_SCRIPT Give it a new DWORD value of: iexplore.exe Data value: 0(zero) We added reg value via gpo and that fixed it
  7. Got the patch......Still bombed out ! Back to the drawing board !
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried giving the pinnacle account full rights over the entire c: drive but still no success. The only thing i haven't done is download the patch as it doesn't recognise the serial number when I try to register (despite the fact it's the exact one on the cover..) So need to go and dig out invoice/proof of purchase and send proof....
  9. Hi All, Great site - Have lurked for a while but thought it was time i made a post !... Wonder if anyone has had a similar problem or has any suggestions:- Looking to incorporate Pinnacle 9 into our computing base image. Pinnacle 10 is not an option due to the spec of PC's. Heres the problem:- Install as normal under Administrator profile. runs fine under Administrator. Go through normal process of copying profile to default user , permit everyone etc. The problem lies that the application will not launch with any profile other than administrator. Any other profile it will display the splash screen and then generate a "error has occured..." window. I have tried the following:- - Gave a test profile full rights to c: drive - Created a "Pinnacle" account and made it part of the administrators group. - Logged on as Administrator and tried to Run as with Pinnacle account. - Checked paths of pinnacle registry entries. The pinnacle knowledgebase hasn't helped at all so any ideas would be helpful !
