Hi again, I am having issues with windows Installer Service???? I can not install anything, I can not uninstall anything and I can not access office applications via shortcuts I have to type in the run command the program for example winword.exe etc Is this a case of a reinstall of XP or is there a quick fix?? cheers

I think it is something to do with the SCSI Controller looking for a drive that isnt there. The issue now is the best way to try and recover data from the old hard drive???? It has not been detected when I plug it into the server?

There is still one little issue, when the machine is switched on/restarted it stays on the Boot up screen for ages????? not sure why?

I replaced the hard drive with a WIN XP hard drive then had to add the raid driver and format the Drive (it formated once I put a Hard Drive with XP currently on) Don't ask me WHY?

why can this server not install a fresh copy of server 2003 though??? It does not identify the disks. It formats them but will not put the OS on them????? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

The server is a Fujitsu Siemens Primergy Econel 100. Intel Pentium D the origional Hard Drive - Samsung HD160JJ (the one that will not boot) New hard drive(s) Maxtor Diamond Max 10

I have now put a different Hard Drive in the server and the Hard Drive is detected but whenb I try formating the hard drive it says: Setup was unable to format the partion. The disk may be damaged......etc etc make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated etc etc You must select a differewnt partition for Windows..... WHAT SHALL I DO???? (Tried with 2 different hard disks)

I think the problem could lie with the installation of server 2003 SP2 as It was in the middle of this when it was shut down!!! does this mean anything to anyone???

The server is our moodle server (vle) although it is not up and running yet it still containd vital data.

Ive Tried: Safe Mode, Last known Good Confiuration Debugging Mode Safe Mode with Command Prompt... I really don't want to have to format the drive.

Hi all, When I arrived at work today one of my servers was shut down. When I restarted the server it began to boot. BUT when it get to the (server 2003 load up screen) it stays on the load up screen for about 30 seconds and then the server restarts it self and it keeps doing it. Now I have just restarted it my self and I have got the "Blue screen of death" with the following info: STOP: c000021a {Fatal Sytem Error} The Non-DLL file included in the knownDLL list. system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc000036f (0xe187c7e0 0x00000000) The system has been shut down. ANY IDEAS ANYONE.....

Has anyone restored a server from NTBACKUP? What procedure do you take? What steps do you follow? Is everything backed up? When you restore is it as if your server had never gone? thanks

Someone came to me and asked me to look at there computer. It turned out there version of Windows XP Pro was not genuine. So I tried to enter a different serial but it said it was not valid for the installation (although I know the serial I was inputing was valid)??? Is there away around this or do I need to reinstall Windows? Thanks

wE ARE SEPERATE FROM EVERY SCHOOL IN THE LEA, HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE HE HAS NO COME BACKS. HE WANTS EVERY ANGLE COVERED. ONE STANDARD IS OFFSITE BACKUPS WHICH HE WANT SORTING ASAP.
