  1. Rallytech, I'm building a T610 this week to run ESXi and have exactly the questions you did in Feb. Assume you system is running now ? What spec did you end up with, how is it running and anything you would do differently ? Thanks David Chaps
  2. I've had great fun with server names over the years. Somewhere on t'interweb there is a paper about naming, three things I remember and always make sure of: 1. Particulalry if using English placenames, make sure there isn't a rude word in the middle of the name, even Sussex can cause problems to some filtering software ! 2. Make the desktop wallpaper relate to the machine name, helps you remember what machine you are on. 3. Make sure the first part and last part of the name is different to existing servers in your organisation. We had a Webserver called Speyside and a DB server called Speybridge and were always mixing them up ! We had some problems with servers Clacton and Frinton - these went away when we renamed Frinton to Margate ! One other tip is buy a label machine so if you have to ask a non-tech to reboot you can have confidence they choose the right machine !
