we have even tried some models of the j5Create devices, but its the same experience. Using the built-in miracast on the TVs seems to be better, but they don't stay on cast source when turned off. At least the MS adapters connected to HDMI port, when the TV is power cycled they come back to the same source and show the Win + K. Getting teachers to learn a new way to connect and find the remote for all rooms will be a bigger issue.

Hi, Just we still have issues. It does seem that if you persist and keep trying to connected after 5-6 times it will connect. It also seems to be if the device is in the same room as the adapter for a day, it seems to work the next day and once previously connected, seems fine. Then if staff move around we get issues for a few days until it settles. It doesn't seem to be just windows 11 now, with some windows 10 laptops also experiencing the same. The adapter shows the user name of the logged on user and says "user is connecting" and then says couldn't connect. So its not an issue with not broadcasting, just seems to be if its a new wireless device that it doesn't know.

Hi All, We have Microsoft Wireless Display adapters (4 square logo) in all our teaching spaces in school. Staff use Surface Pro 9 to connect. This Summer we upgraded to Windows 11 ready for the end of Win 10 support. It was not realised that the MS wireless display adapters do not support Win 11. Since, we have tested different combinations. We have identified that it is not the devices. There are no issues with Windows 10. Windows 11 surfaces will not cast to the MS adapters or the built-in screen sharing on the TVs in the classrooms. Therefore, we believe there is an issue with Windows 11 and miracast, but cannot find anything online. MS have just said that there are no known issues. We have not got any other mobile devices to test with. Using an android phone, it connects to all methods without issues. Has anyone else had any experience with Windows 11 and Miracast?

Hi, in terms of the RPA, what are other schools looking into or already done. I have not been passed any information about the RPA and what we need to do to be covered, the Business Manager has just asked to get quotes for a Pen test, but companies are also offering cheaper vulnerability assessments.

we are currently running 32 IP camearas on 720p. Had to change due to performance issues when all at 1080p, but would a VLAN help that much as they are still going through the same switches. Would it be better for the network if we had a dedicated switch for the camearas?

That's a question I was thinking as well. I have now found 2 companies who are prepared to not rip everything out, but upgrade in sections meaning a smaller capital spend for us. we have 32 onvif IP cameras and 32 coax cameras. We are looking to keep the 32 IP cameras and just replace the NVR which is on its last legs, and connect those cameras. Then over time, get another NVR and slowly replace the coax cameras with IP or for those on poles outside and still working use coax to IP converters. Do you have any recommendations on the brands of NVRs? So far I am looking at either IDIS or Hikvision. Both are installed at local establishments close to us, and both seem as good as each other, and similarly priced, so need soon long-term feedback if anyone has any for either manufacture.
