Hello all, I'm getting rid of this 19" Rack unit 16U (48 vertical screw holes). It seems a shame just to skip it, but if anyone has a use for it, and is willing to pick it up, it's yours. Obvious to say it's in used condition (marks,scratches etc.). Dimensions are 91cm(H), 62cm (D), 60cm(W). Based in the Bolton Area, North-West England. Send me a private message if interested.

I agree with all the advise you have got so far. We still have some 7 year old iMacs at our place, 2.16GHZ with 3GB ram, and they run 10.7 (Lion) absolutely fine. For management, I would also highly recommend Apple Remote Desktop - Apple (United Kingdom) - Remote Desktop 3

Thanks for the info. I have used Pugh computers before, so I may enquire. I have also received quotes from Equanet (for the 1st time) this month on software volume licensing, and a new apple suite. However they were way off the mark with their pricing, so I don't think I will be passing them any quotations in the near future. (Although rumours have it that they maybe folding soon, despite their PC World backing, you didn't hear that from me!).

Apologises for being a bit of a troll on this mac forum. I have tried to search for any similar topics, but to no joy. I'm looking to get a few wireless access points for some of my mac rooms, simply for teachers and their macbooks. The largest room would be a dance studio (Some 12M x 25 Metres). I'm looking at the Airport Extreme base stations, just for ease of installation, but are there any better alternatives for similar money? Also, I'm guessing that you can switch DHCP off on them (Airport), so it doesn't hamper our current AD setup. As I'm getting conflicting reports via google research. Any thoughts/experiences?

Hello again, I have an Xserve G5 (PPC), which is currently running OSX Server 10.4 (Tiger). It needs an upgrade but snow Leopard is incompatible with PowerPC chips, and you seemingly cannot purchase Server OSX 10.5 anywhere. Actually tell a lie, I did get passed onto an Apple back catalogue place, but they wanted over £500 (it was under £200 new). Any recommendations? Anybody have any unused copies that my college can purchase/have? Obviously all above board! Cheers

Hello all, I'm looking to upgrade a number of 13" Macbooks (white, 2.0Ghz C2) this summer. They currently have 60 GB 2.5" SATA II Toshiba MK6034GSX (5400 rpm) drives in them. I'm looking to get larger capacity drives, and possibly upgrade them to 7200rpm drives if possible. Has/Does anyone have any recommendations/experience/issues with this? Is there any issues with replacing the 5400rpm with a 7200rpm ( i assume power consumption may rise), or does the motherboard cap the HD capacity? The laptops will also be imaged with Snow Leopard this summer. Any information would be appreciated Cheers
