Thank you both for the replies. I've been a sysadmin/IT support helpdesk/some MIS involvement (mainly SIMS). The role I'm contemplating is pure IS management and what I need is an overview of what you think I'll be expected to do. The job description is very woolly and fluffy, no substance. It seems not much of a task to occupy a full working week on the face of it so there's obviously a lot about the role that I'm unaware of. Any chance of your point of view on the role in general? Many thanks.

Would this not do the job for playback on an older TV? HDMI HDTV to VGA HD15 3 RCA Converter Adapter Cable - Wholesale Factory Direct

So this outputs to HDMI and it's possible to connect via an adapter to a 3 x RCA (white, red, yellow) or SCART input to an older TV and achieve full video and sound? Is that correct? What would I then need to be able to achieve remote control selection and playback of media files? Sorry for the questions with, probably, obvious answers but I've never looked into setting up a media centre.

Five hours a week for less than £85 a week? That seems a little .... errr... cheap?
