I have an old HP LaserJet 4 and a new HP DeskJet 6940. When I print documents to both of them from MS Word under Windows 2000, the document on the LaserJet 4 is about 6.25 percent larger than the same document on the DeskJet, including both images and text. The size on the newer DeskJet is correct.
I have updated the LaserJet driver to the latest version. I have contacted HP, who claim they no longer support the LaserJet 4 and referred me to FAQ's (none of which address this issue). Also, if I print PCL macros on the LaserJet, they come out the correct size (e.g. a 600 X 600 pixel image prints 2inches X 2inches at 300dpi). The problem must be in the LaserJet 4 driver or how Word is using it.
How can I get Word under Windows 2000 to print documents the correct size on the LaserJet 4?
