Thanks - working now. did a GPupdate /force on the test machine and the app installed on next reboot.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have granted authenticated users read and execute access as suggested but still get the same error.

I want to install shutdownertron to aprox 300 client machines I have setup a group policy to deliver the install package to the machines. When testing this in a test OU, the product fails to install and I get the following error in the server event log: Software Installation encountered an unexpected error while reading from the MSI file \\server\x\shared\shutdown\Shutdownertron-1.3.3214.1.msi. Any ideas anyone? Thanks
