Can't remember specifically wha tI did but I managed to create a couple of Teams that weren't 'classes' so didn't have assignments - I *think* I went through the 365/admin section as you have mentioned which doesn't give the class options. Thanks for the responses - some further things to investigate when I get a chance. Does look like it might be the aerohive access points 'deauthenticating' clients = that has shown up in the logs- and one teacher has told me that they have seen issues with laptops dropping off the network some time after successful login - so maybe it is congestion/thoughput rather than login/gpo processing per-se. I have put a wired switch inthe room that seems to witigate the logon issue - so it looks more and more like its wireless specific.

Any pointers about an issue I'm seeing - Windows 10 laptops and student accounts are pretty much randomly having very long (20 mins _+) login times and GPO loading. Same user / same laptop might or might not be fine next time round. Nothing I have yet come across in logs gives me any real pointers. Once the login has completed then performance is fine. Any advice about what / how to log this as I might have missed a trick. I've tried updating firmware on the client laptops but it seems to be happening to a couple of different types of machine now. I 'feel' its something about the AD / wireless rather than client side but I could be wrong. TIA

Only got a couple of cleaners and a couple of caretakers on site so didn't know there was an issue till I was being thrown out by th esite team. I could access the web as local admin and as network manager but not as staff or student. I tried adding one of the site staff to the no-filter netsweeper group but didn't seem to help. Tried to access the remote server just now from home and couldn't reach it so maybe the problem is getting worse... Is there a status page for schoolsbroadband? I've been looking but haven't come across one yet. They've not been over responsive when I've contacted online - been good via the phone,

Just pushed out 90+ geobooks with Win10 for home use - not a big fan of them but they just about do the job for Teams for our students. Now told some additional funding has been sourced - but looking at the price/specs of refurb laptops its clear that demand is driving prices up. From time to time over the last couple of months SLT have mentioned chromebooks but I've pushed back as I've limited experience with them but looks like I've got to at least consider them. What are your experiences with them - particularly with regards to MS Teams? Looks like netsweeper and securusxt offer support for chromebooks, and, as that's what I've inherited I'd be interested in experience with those & chromebooks... Thanks

I've been asked to add a couple of Trust member as 'owners' of classses in Teams. We're using Salamander and SDS so I guess that this can be done by manual editing of CVS files pulled from SIMS - add them to each class in the spreadsheets Powershell's Add-TeamUser would seem more 'standard' but I'd need to get the object-id for the classes in my school and ignore those that were from other schools in the trust and admin teams etc Anyone have any experience or pros/cons about either method or suggest anything else? I created new users for 365 access for SLT and then added these users to each team - seems to have worked for them - just did it through the gui We're using salamander / sds so will probably look at editing the CSV files I get from SIMS to add them as owners/teachers for each class next time I look at this
