these people are teachers tho, they call our office because there mouse is unplugged and they cant be asked to plug it back in themselves. We do currently just use the drop down box and most of the time its fine but when the adminstration staff use a PC and use another domain and dont change it back they never know what to do, all they know is they cant log on. was just trying to make life simpler for them, it how they like it but they'll have to put up with what they got.

cheers, looking like i may have to do the same and just get them to put up with what they got. never understood how it was so hard to remember an extra password in the 1st place.

yeah doesnt quite look like the solution im after. how did you resolve this issue when u had it, did you end up merging your domains?

Sadly a merger of domains is out of the question. any information or advice on federation services would be appreciated as i have never heard of let alone used this service.

is it also possible for the user from the parent domain to log into the sub domain rather than the original parent domain?

Can members of parent domain log into a subdomain without changing the domain name at the login screen?

Does anyone know a way of forcing flash to open in internet explorer instead of the stand alone player? as i seem to be unable to kill the standalone player at all.

We are running server 2003 at the moment

I would like to be able to change the file association based with .swf files. I would like to make them open in IE instead of the standalone flashplayer. If possible i plan to do this through group policy, but altough i have found the relevant keys within the registry i am unable to convert these into a working policy. Any help with this would be much appreciated.
