I have had my fair share of bad experiences with this company and their products. I spend around 3-3.5 hours onsite on rota school visits. Before IWB's I just about had enough time to get round and complete the endless list of jobs to do. No we have IWB's to deal with I spend on average 30-60 mins pretty much every time I vist schools fixing IWB problems. Rebooting pc's, updating firmware, cleaning filters, logging support calls, recabling the mess their engineers leave behind. the list goes on. To be fair some of the guys on the helpdesk are very good and some have been particularly bad. There seems to be no standards in their installations, each time i go into schools that have had new installs there is some new contraption to try and figure out. none of their drivers are digitally signed by microsoft. new projectors need cleaning in some cases only a couple of months after the initial install. hourly rates for engineers to come out and do extra work are very overpriced, and you have to pay for their travelling time to site. Promethean have tried to deal with our problems such as rolling reboots on xp clients. they have released a number of fixes (fudges) none of which are concrete fixes and seem to me to be half baked ideas someone has come up with on the fly.
can anybody else relate to any of the abouve issues?
all in all i think IWB's are a good idea but in practice are an expensive headache. 8O
