Iain, Thanks for the help. Winding my way through this I ended up at the events table with event_type of ABSNCE and category <> PRESAM and <> PRESPM Richard

Does anyone know which table in WCBS/PASS holds the pupil attendance data? Is it stored by exception (ie everyone is assumed to be present if not explicitly flagged as absent) or by status for all pupils? A brief look would indicate that db.events and dbo.attendance_details might contain the data but it doesnt look quite right.
