to change the default sms tone select the messages icon on the home screen. Press the menu key then select settings. Scroll down to the notification settings section, press select sound. There you can choose the one you like. To lock the screen just press the power key to turn the screen off. Press again to turn back on and the phone will be locked. Hope that helps!
