I know that I want learning - rather than IT - to dictate the device. However, with all the talk of iOS devices I am interested in schools which have gone for non-Apple devices, particularly Android, and what their experiences have been from all perspectives; learning, implementation, management and everything in between. We have used motioncomputing's (Windows) tablets on a small-scale with positive feedback from users (teachers), but I wonder how far such devices will merely allow teachers to stay within their comfort zones (Internet, Office applications) rather than fostering any real creativity or pushing the boundaries - which I feel the iPad lends itself well to.

Hi I'm currently putting together a report on our school's options in going down the 1-1 route. (e.g.iPads, netbooks(!), Macs ). I was wondering whether anyone is aware of any schools - UK or otherwise - who have gone for non-Apple tablets, on a large(ish) scale (Windows or Android), and to what degree of success. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks
