  1. Well let me know how you get on with them, I'd certainly think twice about buying anymore after the problems we've had.
  2. If you want to PM me on here with your e-mail adderss I can e-mail you the rfu file (only 8MB).
  3. To be honest I'm not 100% sure if I downloaded it from the website above, it might have been from the FTP site dasonix posted earlier The file in the Firmware Repository of my HP Web Jetadmin console is HP_LaserJet_P2055dn_20090430.rfu If you don't already use Jetadmin I'd install that and then use the 'Get Images' button under the Repository section to see if it will locate it for you.
  4. The PCL6 driver for the P2055. Firmware date code 20090430. The above were both the latest available in September and I was told by HP on the phone that the firmware would fix it as the issue was known to them. If you have a lot of networked printers to update then you can push the firmware out with HP Web Jetadmin. Touch wood no more problems to report
  5. Yep still no problems here either, long may it continue!
  6. We plugged our printers in and then used the network config report to identify the DHCP address we could access the web interface on. Each machine was then switched to 'Manual' configuration mode and given a fixed IP address. We have each printer installed on our 2003 server using those IP ports but I manually added the .inf driver file rather than using the setup wizard on the CD. The driver we are using was the latest one available from the HP site as the CD's tend to be boxed months before you buy the printer. Our client terminals are running Citrix and picking up the printer from the 2003 server. I'll not be convinced our problem has cleared for good until I've had a few months clear running.
  7. It's only a week since we updated the firmware on our machines but no problems as yet.
  8. Only 5 of our machines were not on 20090430 already so I doubt the firmware is going to help in my case either. We already had HP Web Jetadmin on the server so I used that to deploy the firmware over the network.
  9. We've just installed 25 of these printers across our sites and after 5 days running we've had our first experience of this problem. Our domain controller was showing an 'Offline' status for the majority of our P2055DN printers and I couldn't ping any of them. After switching off and on each printer the problem cleared itself and any queued jobs resumed. I called HP this afternoon and after explaining the problem to 'Patricia' in Bangalore she was quick to tell me that the issue was caused by 2008 dated firmware and that it would be resolved by putting on the latest release. Apparently quite a number of customers have been calling with this issue and she was confident the firmware would solve it. As far as I can tell the P2055DN firmware can only be updated via USB - correct? Co-incidence or not, I added all my P2055DN's to Jetadmin just 40 minutes before the problem occurred It did cross my mind that it might have had something to do with the problem as I guess the console is polling the printers for status information on a fairly regular basis. Does anyone here use Jetadmin with their P2055 printers? Our printers are located on different branches of our WAN each connected by a BT Cisco router so it's rather odd that they've all went off at around the same time.
