    Roaming Profiles

I have a working roaming profiles but the problem is that whennever any staff log to the network,in their default network printer (which was set prior to logging in) will be deleted. they will have to re install the printer again. this has been happening over and over again. I run windows 2003 server, ranger for networks
  2. :? I have been told by my Lords to provide all my teaching staff with access to log in to school network from home. i have bought a new server and installed windows 2003 enterprise edition on it and also have setup up erminal services on it. we have enough CAL licenses. what do i do next? how do i create the rdp that will be downloaded from our network by the eacher on their laptop for connectivity? how do i set it up so that whenever they log into the network, they will pick up thier profiles and allow them to see all thier mapped drives
  3. Thanks for all that contributed to this forum. The preoblem i have now is that new users created in the AD always pickup the proxy settings but the old users who were already in the AD cannot surf the internet. if you thpe in the proxy settings in the IE, it will not save it.
  4. Thanks i dont have any folder redirection. itis very confusing cos if i log on as domain adminon any other computer in the school i will be able to access internet without having to set the proxy. but not any other person.
  5. I had a problem with GPO and all user recieving proxies on their system. i created a staff gpo and set the equinoxproxy so that all staff members can use the proxy to access internet. unfortunately only staff that is joined to the domain with local admin rights can only use internet. if i type in the proxy settings for the users with roaming profiles, it will not accept the settings. all staff had roaming profiles. i also had set the proxy setting at the gpo\staff\user configuration\windows settings\I E maintenance\connection\proxy settings. this is not propergating down. what do i do wrong?
  6. Thanks very much for the contributions so far. it is very informative. Did any one of you have or know of any script that can move the home folders from old domain controllers to the new one. secondly we have drive letters such as "h " which is common to both domains for all users on the network. what should i do?
  7. I have 2 networks-admin and curriculum on vanila 2000/2003 on separate domain. i have been told to join them together to make one single domain. both domains are separate subnets and IP. the admin is nated to a class c ip address. i have in total 10 servers with a new cluster server to help sepate the network. Have anyone out there single handedly join his domains togerther so that Sims and other application can run in the classroom whiteboard? Can you please enlightened me how you did it. Or if you know of any external contractor that has done it succesful please help. secondly we also want every students and staff to be able to log in from home through the browser and access all ther work on the network. somebody has told me is possible to do this by combining 2003 enterprise server and linus enterprise as the TS clients to do this. he said this is to avoid expensive citrix cost any ideas
