Yes, to clarify this a bit, we have a bunch of standalone laptops that connect to the wireless. My program pop's up and they enter student or teacher username and password, and it then maps the drives depending on what user was entered. The school wanted to use the laptops without the student / teacher profile being loaded up, and wanted to get into the home drives. This seemed a fairly good solution.

Hello, Bit of an odd one that I hoped the brains on here might be able to help with. I've got a program that maps drives, depending the the username entered, home drives, shared areas depending on staff or pupil etc. It works, apart from the Home drive part. If the bat file tries to map the home drive I get System Error 55. If I manually type in the same command into a cmd window it works fine. I've used a bunch of net use d: /delete and all that before It starts. Anyone shed some light on where I might have gone wrong? Thanks Stu

Reallusion have gotten back to me - turns out Crazy Talk does this by design. Its a feature not a flaw, and advised I check permissions on those drives. (and suck eggs perhaps). Fortunately its a bit of a one trick pony, so the kids don't really bother with it much!

Hello, We have Crazy Talk 6.0 pro in a highschool. Pupils have limited rights to the PC - things like the C:\ are hidden via GPO. When they click on Open or Save within Crazy Talk it shows the C:\ and worse still, allows them to browse other hidden shares. I've double checked my computer (we are on XP until next year) and the drives are indeed hidden. It looks a bit like a java applet controls the open / save box, but could't see anything obvious within the java control panel, or crazytalk options. Any idea how I can stop crazy talk showing our hidden drives? Many thanks in advance!

we have recently moved to Viglen, seem good so far, (Dell struggled to get us the kit we needed on time). Not sure about support yet, as we've not had to call them, but finding drivers and things like that have been no bother. Good and Bad is that you need a tool kit to get inside them, good to stop prying hands, and bad cause I always forget where I left my tools...

I know this is an old thread, but if you go into printer properties, you will see that the smart notebook is trying to use letter paper rather than A4, hence the printer going a bit mad. It's stored in the profile, so if your users all have there own profile you might want to show a few of them how to make the change themselves. Cheers
