We had the same issue, the bootstrapper we deployed in June 2024 evidently doesn't support the latest updates. As it is only impacts new profiles that haven't auto-updated Teams, the issue hasn't been that widely reported yet. We've just deployed the latest bootstrapper from Microsoft and it seems to have resolved the issue with Teams on new profiles. The most difficult bit was identifying a robust detection method, in the end I just created a tag file and checked for that.

This is more for anyone else's benefit who may come across this thread, we've had this error on numerous machines and have worked out what it is through Process Monitor. It appears that during an office upgrade, the app paths in the registry aren't populated correctly, when Pulsar.exe tries to reference these you get the error message listed above. The entries are listed under: "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Winword.exe", "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Excel.exe" etc. <-- Edit, not sure why but undesired spaces have been added in the registry locations on the post for some reason. You can populate the sub key values (using a working machine as reference) and you should find that generating reports now works. A lot quicker than having to reinstall office and can be deployed via GPO/Script etc.

Some people I know have implemented it as a replacement for a file server but I wouldn't really recommend it, yes you can map their home folders to their My Site personal folders so it is achievable, however, if your users are light users, and by light I mean their home folder contains a few word/excel files etc then yes it's a viable solution, but as soon as they start storing videos, mp3s and 100's of MB worth of files then your MOSS server is gonna take a battering. Keep them seperate, that'd be my recommendation.

Ah excellent Looks quite promising, not too expensive either, the only thing is that there isn't an optical zoom on them is there, that'd be my only concern with them.

Hi, Just wondering if anybody out there that knows of a decent digital video camera that acts as a mass storage device when plugged in to a PC, preferably one that'll record in mpeg2/4 so that teachers can just copy and paste their videos directly off of it without requiring us to do it. With more and more courses involving media, we seem to be spending more and more time ripping videos off of mini-dvdr's or tapes and converting them to a format that'll be playable on the PCs here, we've already installed the combined community codec pack but more often than not, the cameras we've got will use some codec that nobody has ever heard of before. Any advice would be most appreciated as I've found no matter how many reviews/spec sheets you read about a device, it's never that clear how compatible it is until you've actually bought one and tested it yourself.
