  1. Hello, i am trying to map a shared folder on logon for pupils. I have used workgroup manager and in preferences i have added the said shared folder in the documents and folder box. when a pupil logs in they get a question mark instead of a folder icon. have i missed something? any help would be great!!
  2. Hello Im having trouble trying to create a new image for a new macbook (6,1) it has no firewire port. so im struggling to know where to start really, as everytime i have done this before its been with target mode on an older style mac! any help would be great!!
  3. When a Mac has been bind with windows ad which group policy will take place on the mac? the policy set on the mac server or the windows policy? also how would i go about mapping a shared area for students to save into located on the mac server? the mac seems to map the students home area on the windows sever. (which is what i wanted) but pupils do not get acces to the hard drive even though the hard drive is not locked down in the mac server policies? (but would be locked down in the windows policy) what i want to do is get pupils to save word proccessing docs in the windows home area, and movies saved onto the mac server. But on imovie it seems not to let them import to the mac sever. it automatically defaults to the windows home area. i would prefer to save to the hard drive and then copy the files over to the Mac sever. is there away around this? any one who could explain how things work once bind with Windows server would be a true star!! Any Help would be great! ow and sorry if this sounds a bit all over the place =0) im not still trying to get my head round the mac world
  4. also one last thing. we have bind the mac client to our active directory when our pupils log in with their network account. imovie tries to import to their windows network home drive. is there anyway to point the import directly to directly to the c drive? it says its saving to macintosh HD but error message says. Can't Create Event import was canceled you do not have pomission to /network/servers/"ourserver".internal/username/imovies/imovieevents.localized (which is their windows home area)

  6. Hi rolfea Thanks for the reply! Have you any brief instructions on how to create a drop box on the hard drive? I’m just getting to grips with the Mac’s they just "appeared" at our school! ha ha Also is imovie hd free? Thanks again!
  7. I am having trouble trying to import Movies to a mapped drive on our mac server in imovie09 Now I am a complete novice when it comes to macs, so I’m not sure if this is even possible! We are trying to import the movies to the mac server to save space on the harddrives of the mac and to give the pupils a central place to store their work. Can this be done? I’ve tried importing the movies to the mac hard drive first and then moving the event into the mapped drive in the event library (but nothing happens). I have noticed that the mapped drive has a yellow explanation mark next to it in the event library!? Hope this makes sense!! Thanks Paul
