About Awfers

  1. What do you mean by "turn off" ? That the account is not contacted when you fetch mail ?
  2. We dumped (ie: didn't use) the internal backup util in exchange (ha ha) for a disk based solution. After much research and comparison of Acrons, Symantec and others we chose StorageCraft ShadowProtect (Storagecraft - complete data backup, disk imaging, disaster recovery, migration and data protection solutions in the UK for Windows servers, desktops and laptops. - | StorageCraft | fast System Backup + Disaster Recovery), mostly because of the restoration speed and hardware independent restoration function. Haven't looked back since. Cheers, Awfers (PS: Why do my posts, when I post a URL, add all sorts of text from the webpage it points to?)
  3. Full backup late every evening of every weekday, with incrementals every 15 minutes.
  4. I tried resetting the PRAM, did nothing.. I'm the admin, so there are no parental controls. Even went so far as to remove the light sensors (this was recommended on another forum). Made no difference. Machine has stabilized itself (oddly).. Just plain weird.. Will keep you posted.. Thanks for your help! Cheers, Awfers
  5. It's a pity you are required to use tape.. We now use StorageCraft ShadowProtect (http://www.storagecraft.co.uk), preferred the "all-in-one" package (less expensive and bullet proof) as opposed to Acronis' "modules". It's saved my company's bacon more than once...
  6. I'm fooling around with StorageCraft right now, seems pretty good (had some problems with my old Vaio / XP and Acronis). Anyone have any experience with it?
  7. Hi All, I'm having some horrid problems with my PB 15" 1.5Ghz.. It keeps going to sleep even when open and I am working on it.. I read some tutorials saying I should remove the light sensors as they are faulty. I did this but it hasn't helped at all... Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks! Awfers
  8. You could do it using StorageCraft ShadowProtect (according to the box they offer hardware independent restore and systemmigration). You'll only need an external HD or Network drive to copy from. A tiny bit off topic: Won't you need to have 30 licenses for XP ? Edit: thought a URL would help : http://www.storagecraft.co.uk
