About misquote

  1. Hi, we moved away from Gold last year onto Bromcom MIS and, although there have been problems(which MIS doesn't have them) the system is very comprehensive in what it delivers and you can get at any item of data to produce comprehensive reports in the system or export as PDF, CSV or XLS. The on-line reporting to parents is a peach and if you haven't already seen it I suggest you visit www.MyChildAtSchool.com and arrange a demo. It links to other MIS as well even if you dont take their full MIS this part alone should keep parents very happy.
  2. When I said relatively small I was referring to the overall corporate structures of Serco and Capita that have interests in lots of outsourcing projects from TV licensing to rubbish collection. Having had a demo of SIMS we fail to see where we are missing out; quite the contrary!
  3. To be honest we havent started to use it yet but are just about to trial it. However, since all our data is already in the Bromcom MIS we would not expect too many issues!
  4. I have seen a few comments about Bromcom MIS which we have been using here for some months now. We chose it over Serco or Sims due to it being a new product, from a relatively small company, that was willing to develop it further in partnership with us and apart from a few problems at the start importing data from Phoenix Gold, it has worked very well. The data is all held on our server in school and updates are carried out remotely by Bromcom as required. No changes are needed to staff laptops or workstations which link to the server via the web interface. Support has been second to none and I have lost count of the number of on-site training days we have had. Staff are very pleased with it and a lot of time is now being saved, especially with student reports, which will automatically link into the parents portal MyChildAtSchool, as will the other modules we use such as attendance, behaviour, etc. U/N and passwords are now encrypted and no longer viewable in Notepad! Even if you still use Sims I would recommend getting a demo of the MyChildAtSchool.com web portal which is so simple for parents to use.
