  1. Sorry this looks like an advertisement, which I assure was not intended.
  2. If I may put my 2p worth in, I know you requested 'free' But for £35 unlimited licence for at least 10 programs try 'AVS Software'. Their encoding software is one of the best I have seen for a long time, encodes everything using simple templates. The video editing software is a bit simple, but perfect for school use. I have deployed this for the Media department( which was a bit problematic), the feedback was great. As the point you mentioned, this handles most forms of video format including flash. URL: AVS4YOU® Best multimedia software on today's market.
  3. That does it Fog is going to get an upgrade, I hope I won't regret this...
  4. Hi I have logged on locally to the FOG server this morning and still I have the same issue, there must be something that has changed on he server side. Thanks for your reply it's much appreciated.
  5. Hi guys, I am running fog on ubuntu 9.10 it's been going great. I'm very impressed, but last night I decided to do some work on it using VPN connection we have, via the usual http interface. I only changed the size of the multicast sessions, and then I got this? Please see attached for image, thanks. As you can see Fog will not let me login and the web interface is missing, I have restarted Fog but still I get the same error, nothing appears to be deleted. However I've only just got into work and not had a chance to investigate. FOG is not joined to the domain and only has guest status when proxy issues are concerned, but this has not been an issue. Any ideas/advice? This is also my first post so, I hope it has been done in the right context and area. Thank you.
  6. Thanks for the information, gave me a lot to think about. I will observe the rules and start a new thread next time. By the way our server up time has just been reset I just had to apply 9 months of updates to all the servers. Bang goes my Half term
  7. My first post.. Sorry to go off topic. Could I ask a few questions? A: Is Fog worth using as a practical deployment tool? B: How easy is it to make an image and serve? C: Will it replace the stupid floppy disks I have to use? D: Will it save my sanity from build errors with RM? (Drivers/Time outs/Software errors/ Over bloated installations) E: How easy is it to integrate into RM CC3 network? I can see the benefits are very beneficial, but I am worried that my Network manager will not like it. He's an RM Man and won't budge on anything remotely different.. Could you please point me to a guide on the subject, as I have been following the FOG webpage and just set it up on a old Dell server. I just set-up last night and got to to boot a memory test. Just would like a heads up on is it worth it and how do you customise your images? Thanks in advance, especially all the newbie questions
