  1. Hi Damon, This didn't fix the issue for us. I've had to change it back to 2012 as changing it to 2016 started to disrupt other 3rd party SIMS addon's.
  2. We've had a secondary school move to a new server in the summer. We installed SQL 2019 and the compatibility is set to 2012. They're are having nightmares with reporting. Some reports are taking 45 minutes. After reading this I'm going to try and change the compatibility to 2016 and try the report again.
  3. Hello, We have the same error at one of the schools that we support. Do you have the solution for this? Thank you
  4. Hi Chris, We have the same issue at one of our schools. I've logged a case with Capita. Did you get to the bottom of this issue? Thanks
  5. Have you tried renaming the SIMS .net folder and reinstalling SIMS on the Server? Also is UAC on? If it is it might be worth turning it off and restarting the SIMS server before trying to reinstall SIMs on the server.
  6. There's an issue with the DLL files not updating in the SIMS .net folder on the server. 1. Delete all dll files in the SIMS .net folder on the server. 2. Then run SIMSApplicationSetup.exe, SIMSManualSetup.exe, SIMSAmparkSetup.exe as administrator and this installed the latest dll files. SIMS should start to work again. The issue seems to be with permissions.
  7. Hello, I've had this in the past on Windows Server 2012. There's an issue with the DLL files not updating in the SIMS .net folder on the server. Deleted all dll files in the SIMS .net folder and then ran SIMSApplicationSetup.exe, SIMSManualSetup.exe, SIMSAmparkSetup.exe as administrator and this installed the latest dll files. SIMS is working again. The issue seems to be with permissions.
  8. Hello mac_shinobi, SMTP is enabled. We think we have this working now. The test email is working. Now need to test it with the user. We followed the instructions from the following link: https://support.google.com/a/answer/2956491?hl=en Thanks
  9. Hi Maark, How did you get the SMTP to work with Gmail? Thanks
  10. We have recently started the rollout of SIMS in classrooms. We do not map the a sims drive for the teachers, but edit the local connect.ini to point to the server. This has worked well so far, until we put out the latest upgrade. Only the admin machines with the mapped sims drive automatically upgraded. The classroom machines have an error of incompatability. How have other authorities dealt with this?

  12. Sorry. Yes it's fronter and we're the support unit. We export from SIMS everynight using the scheduled task. We've transfered SIMS to a new server and we just cannot get the tasks to work.
  13. How do we Setup a scheduled task for the VLE export on a Windows 2008 server?
  14. Hi David, This is a secondary school with about 80 users.
  15. A school is recreating their network and reformatting their servers. They are moving onto Windows 2008 and would like to know whether they should move their SIMS to 32 bit or 64 bit server edition. So can any one tell me if they have recently moved SIMS from a 32 bit server to a 64 bit server and if they have seen any performance improvements?
