we are using version 6.00.46

we use securus on a nearly daily bases and it is getting clogged up with old violation data and old users is there any way of removing the old UN-needed data

could i have a copy of the script please

in our school we have a couple of machines in the libary that run all the libary programs the machines are networked so the librarian can check emails and that sort of thing. is there a way of stoping other users loging oo to the network so that only the librarains and administrations can login without fear of the kids killing the machine again

im just trying out differant linux servers jsut to see what there like and at the moment its running CentOS im currently useing virtual pc before i go and touch any hardware

i no i may sound stuped but how do i add a user interfeace to the server

do you use a gui on your centOS servers

does anyone use a linux or simila server in a school or college if so what os are you using and what are you running on the server thanks

glad you got it sorted norton is a major pain in the bum

you may need to speciy a range of ip's in the norton personal firewall

do you use norton by anychance try adding your ip range into your firewall allow list

thank you for all your help the problem was fixed this morning before i got to work and no one told me that it was goinmg to be looked at thank you to all those that have posted ideas on how to help

just had a look at killdisk but it wont work cause the machine willnot leet you boot from any devices

the computer shop went bust 2 weeks after we got it back and the students were in y11 and now have gone

i dont think it was locked in the bios cause when you try and boot the laptop it just coms up with locked hard drive

we had a latop that was stolen by a pupil in the school and they took it to the local computer shop to get it formatted and they realised at the shop that it was stolen contacted the school and we got it back but they decieded that they would lock the hard drive i dont know why they did and when they told us the password the person that wrote it down got it wrong and now we cannot get on the laptop anyone got any ideas on how to remove the harddrive lock

i emailed them and asked them about this problem and they just send an email back saying we are unable to help you as you dont have a helpdesk subscription

i would give them a call but i have been told that we have no help desk cover anymore so i dont know what to do now

i have just started working at a school and they use Eclipse 2 when i try and log in to add new books to the system i cant because i dont know the password when the old librarian left one of the puipls in the school was told the password and then it got changed now i have come into the school and i cannot do anything till i can log in does anyone have any idea on how the librarian password can be changed
